Scream Opening 2 minutes

Scream Opening Scene
In the opening 2 minutes of scream it is all relaxing and a young girl gets a call from a mystery man, firstly she try's to flirt with him then as she puts the phone down he keeps ringing again. At this point the girl is getting a bit creeped out by the thought of a mystery man keep calling her. The man voice is very deep and intimidating and makes the audience get quite wary of the whole scenario. Scream might effect the audience by them being really annoyed that the girl keeps picking up the phone when the young girl  knows that its the same man just trying to scare her. The audience may feel a little scared at the end of the opening scene as the man threatens to kill her boy friend on her patio. This get the audience a bit scared as the girl keeps screaming and having a panic over the fact that this man is manipulating her. The characters in the opening scene is just a girl having a quite night in but suddenly the phone rings and it the man, you don't see the man in the opening scene you just hear him on the phone, As this was filmed in 1996 the young girl is dress in 90's etire e.g long sleeved top and trousers.

The sound in the opening scene is just a telephone ringing all the time, but apart from the its just the girl and the man speaking to each other. It could be better if there was like dramatic music in the background as it can get more exciting towards the audience. The body language changes throughout the scene as at the start the young girl is all relaxed and up for having a laugh with this man but as he keeps on calling her she gets more scared and frightened and then locks all of her doors and windows so he can't get in. The man effects the way the girls body language changes as he gets more and more intimidating so she gets even more scared.

In the opening scene there is a range of key shots such as a close up shot of the girls face speaking to the man on the phone this shows the intense emotion that is going on in the shot. There is also a long shot in the scene which is a shot of the house from a distance this shows the size of the location. Also in the scene there is a lot of tracking this is where the camera is following the character in the scene in the same movement as them. Finally there is also a few medium shots used, this is to show a shot from hips upwards. Overall I think scream can effect the audience by the audience being a bit wary because of the intimidating voice so they might feel a bit frightened as they won't know whats going to happen next.
