Love Actually Opening scene

Love Actually Opening Scene

In the opening scene of the romance film Love Actually it is very loving feeling towards the audience as people are greeting there loved ones from the airport. The film begins with a voice over from David (Hugh Grant) commenting that whenever he gets gloomy with the state of the world he thinks about the arrivals terminal at Heathrow Airport, and the pure uncomplicated love felt as friend and family welcome their arriving lived ones. David's voice over also relates that all the  messages left by the people who died on the 9/11 planes were messages of love not hate. The film then tells the love stories of many people. The director used Heathrow as part of the opening scene because it shows that whenever people get off the plane they get greeted by there loved ones which shows the audience that love is important and you should take love for granted. The location is obviously Heathrow which is one of the most biggest airports in the UK and most people fly from Heathrow, the director wanted to show to the audience that Love Actually is all about how important love is so this is why the man is telling the audience about how important love is in the opening scene so the audience can get an idea on what the films going to be about. The characters in the opening scene is just the public flying back from there holiday and greeting there loved ones as love actually is about different couples love stories which will effect the audience by viewing on there different stories and how people are in their relationship.
In the opening scene sound is represented as just as a voice over from David (Hugh Grant) he is implying to the audience that love is more important than hate and that love is special and that is what the film is going to be about. There is also an diagetic sound in the background with calming music playing this relates to love as it is smooth and classical. It is an diagetic sound as it is visible to the screen and it makes it more effective. The body language represented in the opening scene is very loving as couples and families are reuniting. This effects the audience as we have been in that situation before, greeting loved ones from the airport it feels special and that what the film is implying.

The main key shots used in the opening scene are mainly close ups and extreme close ups this shows the loving emotion that they are representing towards the audience. Also in the scene there is some medium shots this shows the body movements and body language as they approach there loved ones. Also in the opening scene there are a few over the shoulder shots as you see families or couples reuniting from a behind the shoulder perspective. Throughout the opening scene you see a panning movement this is moving around the location and being effective and working into the different kind of shot. Overall Love Actually is a good romance film as it expresses to the audience that love is far more important than hate and how special it is.

Dirty Dancing Opening scene

Dirty Dancing Opening Scene
In the opening scene of Dirty dancing is that it is very frisky as it is about two dancers dancing passionately.Dirty Dancing is an exquisite tapestry of film cliches. Its pairs a sheltered coddled rich girl with a diamond in the rough, a charismatic illiterate from the wrong side of the tracks. It is set in a society on the very cusps of immense social change. It features an overbearing, disapproving father and a shrinking-violet heroine who must rebel against her parents and the confining mores of her class by taking a chance on lug. It is a film about following your heart, not your hand. It is a film about cathartic, liberating power of dance. It is also a film about uptight rich people learning to let it all hang out. The film reaffirms that there are no romances like summer romances. It is finding that special someone. It signs off with a memorably happy ending, because it is after all, a film about having the time of your life In the opening scene you do see the liberating power of dance, this shows the audience what the whole film going to be about which is passionate dancing. Dirty dancing wants to encourage the audience to dance by showing all the different techniques of dance. In the opening indicates that the film is about dance and gives the opportunity to give credits to the director and production team and name the few characters playing in the romantic film e.g Jennifer Grey, Patrick Swayze. In the opening scene the location is set in a hall with loads of people dancing with there partners. The characters in the opening scene are just a bunch of people dancing with each other with shows the audience everyone loves to dance when you get into the music it just feels natural. The audience might feel during the film that it is a bit passionate and it might be uncomfortable for some viewers that the only negative about it.
The sound represented in the film is a song called 'Be My Baby' by the Ronnettes this is an diagetic sound as it is visible on the screen. This is a well known song in the 80's which is when this film was released (1987). The best way to make an romance film good is to play well know movie tracks e.g in this film there is a song called 'The Time Of My Life' this is an all time romantic dance song which the audience loves as it is entertaining when watching Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze do the iconic dance to this. The body language represented in the opening is very passionate towards the couples who are dancing this shows the audience that this film is about lust and love and is very romantic.

The key shots shown in the opening scene are mainly close ups and extreme close ups as it shows the intense passionate emotion going on between the couples and how passionate they are about dancing. This shows the audience the passionate emotion going on in the couples faces and how much they love to dance and the love and lust going on in the relationship. In the opening scene there may be a few medium shots when you see the couple dancing and there passionate body language from the hips upwards. The director just really wanted to focus on the passionate emotion in the couples faces in the close up shots so he can show the audience that dancing is good and everyone should do it. Overall Dirty Dancing is a classic romance film as it shows the love and lust towards the audience which makes the audience who have a love for romance films are entertained and can get emotional when there is an emotional scene.

The Notebook Opening Scene

The Notebook Opening Scene

In the opening scene of The Notebook it is very plain and calming as it is just a scanning of the location. It is quite plain and just a slow introduction of the film and it doesn't really give any light to it as the film has just started. The background is red this is a bit strange as you won't normally see a red backgrounds in opening scenes. As the opening scene is progressing it shows the actors who stars in the film this does sometimes occur in opening scene this just shows the audience the actors who stars in the film. The opening may effect the audience by it being nice and calm, but really the audience might feel a bit disappointed because in romance film you expect a full on talking scene first so having a quite opening scene I can be a bit bland and boring. The location involved in the opening scene is a lake with some man rowing in his little boat with the sunset in the background. The audience might like the view as sunsets are quite pretty especially when there's nothing around you but a lake. There are not many characters in the opening scene as it is just an over view of the location which is a bit bland as the audience may expect to have one or two of the main characters in the opening scene.

In the opening scene there is one particular sound which is a diegetic sound this is where the music is visible to the screen. the music is quite theatrical and calming some of the audience might think that is authentic. It also sticks to the theme of romance as it is quite a romantic sound this shows the audience that the film is going to be romantic and emotional. There is not much body language used in the opening scene as there is not many characters this is a bit boring as the audience may expect some tension between the characters as it will carry on the whole way through the film which makes the film more intense and passionate and sometimes quite emotional.

The key shots used in the opening scene are mainly a long shot of the whole lake this makes it more effective so you can see the whole of the location, this can show the audience what the film is kind of about judging on the location. Having long shot angles throughout the opening scene isn't that effective normally a director will put in various different shots to make it more effective. There is probably one high shot which is of the location this shows the location from a high point of view. Overall the opening scene to the Notebook is a bit plain but really authentic towards the audience.

Women in Black Presentation Hannah, Hannah and Caitlin

Women in Black Presentation

Conventions Mind Map and Target Audience of Romance

Mind map convention for romance
In this mind map you can see that there is many conventions and cliches of the genre romance. A romance film uses the simple formula boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy finds girl again this is what romance films are basically about. A cliche is infrastructure of a classic romance is the females lead almost never ends up with the man shes supposed to spend the rest of her life with. However teen romances have their own cliche e.g new kids normally find it hard to fit in so they decide to hang out with social misfits or goths.  in romance films you always get that  pushy but lovable mother and the harried and befuddled father. With the boys there is always one supportive wing man which is very weird. There are also emotional powerful, ubiquitous e.g bride and groom getting ditched at the alter. In romance films there are often a summer romance in an exotic location it normally ends up with a happy ending. Finally dance is he crucial element of making a romance film brilliant as dance can save marriages, inner city schools and the misfortune brings lovers together.

The target audience is varied depending on what film you watch e.g Dirty dancing is for 18+  and also The Great Gatsby is for 16+ so it really depends on the film. The interests that the audience has to have to get into a romance film is you have to love romance the sight of a couple enjoying life together and especially seeing it in films. Also they needs to prepare for the emotional roller coaster of the fact that sometime the couple don't last but make a romantic reunion this effects the audience by it being so emotional that people end up crying. Also a romance includes sexual attraction so the audience has to prepare for that as that is the key element you need in a romance film. The different themes of romance is sometimes when the boy fancies a girl that is hard to impress then they fall in love and then someone gets in the middle of it and they break up then near the end of the film they get back together and it gets all emotional, that is the main theme this is what the audience may expect in a romance film. With all the different films the one thing that audience wants is to be effected by the emotion this is the key element of having a romance genre so the directors who produce the romance films tend to put that key element in.

Furious 7 Opening Scene

Furious 7 Opening Scene
In the opening scene of Furious 7 it starts with a very serious Derkard Shaw (Jason Statham) speaking in an very intimidating voice. As the Deckard is speaking he speaks to his brother who looks injured lying in a hospital bed with scars all over his body, this makes the audience think that this film is going to be explosive as already in the first seen someone is severely injured. While he is talking to his brother in the bed he is admitting that he did what he did to protect someone else, this makes Deckard look really evil and unsympathetic as he just walks away feeling no guilt and then the hospital that he is in gets blown up. As he leaves he walks through a load of gunshots and bombs going off, this is during the titles as they show the actors names, this shows to the audience what to expect in the film as it is a action film. The location is in a city of the United States, having a action film set in the city is always good as you can have loads of building and car explosions this leads to the film being very dramatic and serious. the characters in the opening scene is just Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) he makes the audience feel intimidating with his deep, serious voice. Jason Statham is also a very good looking British actor so  the audience will love to see him in action. The opening scene will effect the audience as it has to be dramatic and exhilarating so the audience will want to watch it throughout without getting bored.

There are a few sound effects used in the opening scene, at the start it is a very serious quiet sound while Jason Statham is talking as the director wanted the audience to feel the tension in Jasons voice so that is why the sound is quite quiet. As Derckard leaves the hospital room there is a rap song from I believe is called Reggie rap is playing this makes the opening scene look more current as it sounds like a gangster song it shows that the film is going to be explosive. The body language that Deckard has is very unsympathetic towards his brother, this shows that he has no heart as he is basically telling his brother to man up because that is why he is in hospital.

the camera shots used in the opening scene is a long shot this is a shot of the whole city, this shows the audience the scenery and location of where the movie is going to be set. as the camera zooms out it turns into a over the shoulder shot this is showing  Deckard looking at the city as the camera is shooting behind his shoulder. There is a few medium shots used in the opening scene especially where Deckard is in the hospital with his brother this shows the character from the hips upwards. Also in the opening scene is a close up of Deckard is giving the gun to his brother this shows the close up detail of the shot being held. Finally as Deckard is in the lift the camera is moving around to show Deckard standing in the lift this camera movement is called track which the camera moves around the object. Overall Furious 7 is a brilliant action film to watch as the audience can feel the intense emotion in the film as the explosion and stunts are taking place.

Convention Mind Map and Target Audience for Action

Mind Map of  Conventions of Action
In this mind map you can see all the different conventions and cliches of action. for example there are loads of stunts, explosions, gunshots, rivalry's and usually a hero. A good action film consists of emergency surgery, falls from great height and torture. A cliche is men who have there face painted are usually cast as blood thirsty slobs, men also rappel down high rises, mountains and into ships. Many cliches are too obvious to mention as that's what makes a good action film. The women in actions tend to be promiscuous and may get hurt as they are normally the weakest victim. Finally Non-contemporary action depend on their visual panache on them wearing weird headgear.

The target audience is around 12+ this is an appropriate age as it isn't gruesome or scary it is full of action which may excite the audience and make them want to watch it more. the interest that the audience has to have on action films being able to enjoy explosive stunts, killing and rivalry going on between the characters. the directors that produce action films make sure there is lots of stunts and explosions, this makes the audience get hooked to the film as it filled with loads of drama and seriousness with brilliant story lines which make the audience talk about it after they have finished watching it. The reoccurring effect it has on the audience is that it is dramatic and serious with stunts that wow the audience and there is one character in action films that is always good looking which makes the audience fluster over the fact they are so good looking. the themes used in action films are usually men on missions to kill there ememies which ends up with explosions and gun shots being heard. Finally action films effect the target audience on the excitement of the explosions and the stunts which are being presented in the action films.

Mission Impossible 2 Opening Scene

Mission Impossible 2 Opening Scene
In the opening scene of Mission Impossible 2 it involves in a rock climbing scene which looks quite daunting from the audiences perspective. The film is an action film and it involves lots of missions which include stunts. The actor who is playing Ethan Hunt is Tom Cruise he is a great character for this film as you need a good looking guy to do lots of action stunts which will draw the audience in as he is so good looking. When Tom Cruise is climbing the rocks he uses his bare hands this shows the audience that he is strong and not afraid to do anything. Half way through climbing the wall tom cruise falls and then grabs the edge of the rock with one hand this shows the audience that he is very adventurous and brave and loves a challenge. When Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) uses just one hand to hold onto the rock its some how amazes the audience that he has so much courage and it looks so easy but in reality its really painful and hard. near the end of the opening a helicopter throws a metal arrow onto the ground, inside the arrow there was some sunglasses. When Ethan puts the sunglasses on a mystery voice from the IMF to complete a mission, the mans voice is very demanding this shows the audience that the mission they get set are very serious. Ethan then accepts and then it goes into the opening titles which is really dramatic with loads of effects and music. The location in the opening scene the middle of nowhere with loads of rocks, this makes the scene more exciting when scenes are shot in the middle of nowhere it tends to be more dramatic and more exciting towards the audience to watch. The characters in the opening scene is mainly just Ethan Hunt ( Tom Cruise) as he is the main character he should star in the opening scene and because Tom Cruise is a famous actor the audience are more likely to expect him in the opening scene. The opening scene is effective toward the audience as it is exciting and dramatic as this is what the audience should expect from a action genre.
The sound effects used in the opening is varied as at the very start you can here the wind this is an Ambient sound as it is a back ground sound of the scene and has a more detailed effect. as you get into the scene their is background music which is an African themed music this is effective as it related to the scenery around Ethan and it is very catchy as well. As Ethan jumps from one part of the cliff to another in the middle of his jumps the music tones down a bit and his movements goes in slow motion, this shows the intense motion of his jump. Half way through the music stops and you here a helicopter this is also an ambient sound. Once the helicopter leaves there is some serious bass music this shows that things are about to get serious. However the music quietens down when the man is speaking to Ethan. Finally at the end of the scene it starts to get serious as the titles start to come up so there is some serious music playing. the body language that Ethan has in the opening scene is the feeling of bravery as he wants to achieve climbing the cliff this shows the audience that he is brave and ambiguous. Also he shows a sense of pain as he jumps from one rock to another, but however he acts all cool which the audience will love as he is a good looking actor that the nation loves.
The main shot used in is a long shot of Ethan climbing the cliff this also shows the view of the location and how high up he is. Also there is also a tracking movement shown as the camera is moving around the location to show all the surroundings. There is also a high shot shown in the opening scene this shows Ethan climbing from a high point of view and you can also see how high up he is and how daunting it must be. Finally there is a lot of  extreme close ups and close up shot this shows the audience the intense emotion shown in Ethan's face. Overall the opening scene of Mission Impossible 2 is very dramatic and ambiguous and effects the audience by there being crazy stunts on the rock and is an overall good action film.

Convention Mind map and Target Audience for Horror

Convention Mind Map Of Horror
In this mind map you can see that there is loads of conventions/cliches of horror, For example the location of horror is normally in either a structured house/convenience store/basement or in the woods. People are normally evil in horror and films and normally die. Women tend to shower a lot, but normally ends with either cut hair or blood everywhere. Some horror films tend to use creepy girls, which always end up evil. Also the characters used are either slasher, mainstream, zombie, vampire (vampires weren't likable in some strange way) Finally horror films are mainly gruesome films.

The target audience is around 18+ this is because horror is a very gruesome and scary genre so its best if adults who are able to watch scary film to watch horror. The interests that the people have to have while watching horror is you have to like scary thing e.g creepy dolls, clowns, vampires,
zombies etc, because this is what you will expect in horror films. The directors who produce this film make the film indulging, frightening for the audience so that the audience can be scared or just enjoy the thrill of the creepy gruesomeness. Most horror themes are performed in a minor key to provide a creepy tone and a sense of dread towards the impending audience. The reoccurring reflect the audience by it being scary and gruesome this is what works best for a target audience as this is what they expect and what makes the genre horror. Also the themes such as Halloween is a great theme as Halloween is supposed to be scary and the kids enjoy it but watching Halloween movies is more thrilling to an older audience than the younger as the kids won't know the true meaning of Halloween as it is supposed to scare the audience and thrill them with gruesome creepiness.

The Ring Opening Scene

The Ring Opening Scene
In the opening scene of The Rings it is a bit scary as a teenage girl called Katie is in her house with her friend Becca and creepy thing start to happens for example he TV goes all fussy and when Katie turns it off it goes back on again and also the fridge door opens by its self, Katie reckons that Becca is pranking her but when she goes up stairs there is a puddle of water on the floor and she opens the door as she screams and the TV goes all funny. Katie's is very wary as the atmosphere is very tense as she is alone in  her house. The location in the scene is a casual house in a causal american house. The audience who are watching the film may feel quite uneasy as strange things are happening and they don't know entirely what is causing the strange movements in the house. The characters in the opening scene is just Katie, but we know that Becca is in the house as Katie tries calling her. Katie is feeling a bit frightened  as she doesn't know what is causing these strange things from happening in her own house. As well because it is quite in Katie's house it makes it even more intense and scary. Katie is wearing her school uniform this inform the audience that Katie is just is just a innocent school girl getting scared in her own house

The sound effects used in the opening scene is very creepy as it is the sound of the tv screen fussing, Katie running up the stairs  this sound is called ambient sound this is the background sound being presented to the audience. For the rest of the time the sound is quite this makes it more intense for the audience as you don't know whats going to happen. The tone of voice Katie has is full of fear as she is frighten and is confused at what is going on, this makes the audience more wary to. The body language used is very tense as Katie is walking around her house she is very slow and steady on her feet the audience can tell that she is fearful and is scared.

The main key shots used in the opening scene of The Ring are a extreme close up this is of Katie's face as she turns round to look at the TV scene, this shows the intense emotion going on in Katie's face. There is also a low angle shot of Katie turning off the TV this shows Katie's movements in an low angle point of view. Also in the opening there is a few medium shot of Katie in one shot from the hips upwards this shows her body language in a medium shot view. Also there is a few close ups of Katie this is similar to the extreme close ups where it shows there emotion in a close up view. there is also a high shot angle from the stairs this shows Katie  looking up the stairs with the camera shooting an angle from a high point of view. Finally there is a long shot this is of Katie walking down the hall way this shows Katie from a distance and the view of the location. Overall The rings is an American supernatural psychological horror film, it effects the audience by it being very creepy and unexpected as you don't know whats going to occur.

Scream Opening 2 minutes

Scream Opening Scene
In the opening 2 minutes of scream it is all relaxing and a young girl gets a call from a mystery man, firstly she try's to flirt with him then as she puts the phone down he keeps ringing again. At this point the girl is getting a bit creeped out by the thought of a mystery man keep calling her. The man voice is very deep and intimidating and makes the audience get quite wary of the whole scenario. Scream might effect the audience by them being really annoyed that the girl keeps picking up the phone when the young girl  knows that its the same man just trying to scare her. The audience may feel a little scared at the end of the opening scene as the man threatens to kill her boy friend on her patio. This get the audience a bit scared as the girl keeps screaming and having a panic over the fact that this man is manipulating her. The characters in the opening scene is just a girl having a quite night in but suddenly the phone rings and it the man, you don't see the man in the opening scene you just hear him on the phone, As this was filmed in 1996 the young girl is dress in 90's etire e.g long sleeved top and trousers.

The sound in the opening scene is just a telephone ringing all the time, but apart from the its just the girl and the man speaking to each other. It could be better if there was like dramatic music in the background as it can get more exciting towards the audience. The body language changes throughout the scene as at the start the young girl is all relaxed and up for having a laugh with this man but as he keeps on calling her she gets more scared and frightened and then locks all of her doors and windows so he can't get in. The man effects the way the girls body language changes as he gets more and more intimidating so she gets even more scared.

In the opening scene there is a range of key shots such as a close up shot of the girls face speaking to the man on the phone this shows the intense emotion that is going on in the shot. There is also a long shot in the scene which is a shot of the house from a distance this shows the size of the location. Also in the scene there is a lot of tracking this is where the camera is following the character in the scene in the same movement as them. Finally there is also a few medium shots used, this is to show a shot from hips upwards. Overall I think scream can effect the audience by the audience being a bit wary because of the intimidating voice so they might feel a bit frightened as they won't know whats going to happen next.

Drag Me To Hell Opening Scene

Drag Me To Hell Opening Scene
In the opening scene of the film to Drag Me To Hell it is a bit intense as a family in Pasadena California is a having a bit of trouble as their son Shiloh Selassie is hearing evil spirit voice after stealing a silver necklace from the gypsies. As it gets further into the opening scene you see a family go into a room and then suddenly the evil spirits suck the boy into the ground. This makes the audience feel quite scare as it makes the audience jump with the loud noises. The location is in a old house in a room with antics and the boy is covered in a blanket. This shows the audience that what the boy has done is very serious and there will be consequences. Drag me to hell is a horror and in the opening 2 minutes it scares people already with the fact the floor swallows the boy up and it gives us a tenser on what the film is really about. the characters in the film are a Korean family who are quite poor and the fact that they are hearing evil spirit voices are scary.

The sound that is used in the opening 2 minutes is very intense and dramatic as it makes the audience feel wary about whats going to happen. When the boy gets swallowed up the intense sound gets louder and louder this makes it really scary especially when you hear the mother and son screaming for help. The body language used is very intense between the family and they are frightened as what the spirit is going to do to them but when the spirit swallows the boy up, he realizes what he has actually done and regrets doing it. The opening scene of a horror needs to be exciting and scary as it can make the audience hooked and wanting to watch the whole film.

The main key shots used are a long shot which shows the view of the room and house at a long distance this shows the whole location in one shot. Also in the opening there is a medium shot which shows 2 or more characters in one shot. Also in the opening there is a low shot of the wall and the pattern and the hands crawling on to the glass. finally there is a high angle shot of the boy laying on the floor this shows the boy on the floor from a higher perspective. Overall drag me to hell is a very eye gripping horror and the audience may feel scared or wary of what is in store for them.

Divergent and Dredd Opening 2 Minute Analysis

DREDD
In the opening 2 minutes of  Dredd it has a very sci-fi  feel about it as it is an action film it would make the audience feel very tense and it is very dramatic and serious as there is no background music only until the last 30 seconds where its a really intense music while it is just a man talking throughout the opening scene this makes it even more intense because you don't know whats going to happen next and it shows that it is a very serious action film. The location in the opening 2 minutes is America's Washington DC in quite a rural background and the way the camera moves round the location makes it even more tense for the audience. There are not many characters in the opening scene as it basically just shows you the location. The opening makes the audience want to carry on watching it as it gets very serious towards the end of the scene, so they have they. the body language used in the opening clip is very aggressive as shown in the CCTV clip used in the opening scene and the person speaking, his voice is really intimidating especially towards the audience

One of the camera shots used in the opening scene is a long shot of the outskirts of the city this shows the shot in a longer distance. There was also a high angle shot of the ground with a pans shot moving towards the location. This makes the audience feel like they are moving in the air and looking down at there surroundings. There are some close ups in the scene which shows the detail of people intense emotion. Rest of the scene mainly consists of medium shots as it shows all the main object and subject in the shot which makes it a good shot to have in a scene. Overall the opening scene of Dredd was very serious and imitating towards the audience and very effective camera shots used.

DIVERGENT
Diveregent is a science fiction action film,in the opening scene it is quite serious and direct. At the start of the opening scene there a quite intense calm sound to influence the audience that this is a serious film, but as it gets further into the scene the music stops and a women is speaking and just like Dredd it is a bit serious  but more direct and tells a part of the story. The location of the scene is in Chicago in the city with people travelling to work while the women is narrating the opening scene. There are not many characters in the opening scene apart from a group of people doing there day to day thing and telling people that they help the community by helping other who need them. the opening scene. The opening tells the audiences parts of what the community of Chicago are like and it makes a direct sort of feel to the start of the film and gives the audience a idea of what they are in for. The body language between the characters are quite caring as in part of the scene there are people from the city of Chicago helping homeless people this brings a nice and authentic feel to the film

One of the key shots in the opening is a long shot of the whole city this shows the audience a whole view of the city from a distance. There is a lot of panning in the scene with the camera moving at the same speed of people in a medium shot or panning a shot around the room so the audience can see more of the location. Also in the scene there is a high shot of the buildings so the audience can see the city from a high angle point of view. In part of the opening scene there is a extreme close up of someones eye this shows the detail and the emotion in the eye. Overall Divergent is an sci-fi sort of films with  the a women being very direct and it lures the audience in. to watch it.

Powerpoint of Women in Black 2

Powerpoint of Women in Black 2

Titanic 2 Minute Opening

Titanic Opening Scene
In the opening scene of titanic is very calm and relaxing as it is a romance and a drama film and it is vintage as it was filmed in the 90's. The scene starts with all the passengers saying goodbye to their loved one whilst they aboard the ship and then there is just a clip of the ocean and submarines underneath the water. There isn't really many characters in the opening scene as it is just a bunch of passengers waving on board to there parents who are standing on the decks. The scene location is very much a ship ready to go out to sea it looks quite cold as people where wrapped up warm. The costumes that the passengers were wearing were very vintage, with men wearing old fashion suits and a cap and women wearing dresses that came just below the knee. This shows that titanic was an old fashioned movie and is based on a true story. The audience may be interested in what the film has to offer as people might want to know what really happened 100 years ago and how emotionally tragic it was for people in that day and age.

The sound effects used is the backing music of Celine Dion " My Heart Will Go On"  as this is the main song used in the film. This gives an affect on the audience as it is quiet an emotional song and having it at the start really shows that its going to be an emotional film. The effects of the film are very dull and the colour in the picture is very dull and vintage as it was filmed in the 90's so the effects weren't as good then, but when you get near the end of the scene you see a great picture of the ocean and the submarines. The body language used in the opening is very loving as they are saying good bye to there loved ones and thousands of people are on this big boat getting to know each other, the feelings are quite emotional.

In the opening 2 minutes there are a few key shots used, for instance the first few seconds are a low shot of the boat making the boat look bigger on scene. There is also a panning shot of the relatives waving to there loved ones of the boat. there is a few medium shots of the people on the boat. Also there is a lot of tracking as the camera is moving up and down to get a moving shot. Finally there is a zoom in shot of the submarines underneath the sea at the end of the opening. Overall in the opening makes the audience fell quite emotional as it is quite hard to leave your loved ones and especially with the song it makes it quite unique and soothing.

Toy Story 2 Opening 2 minutes

Toy Story 2 Opening Scene
In the opening 2 minutes of Toy Story it is very serious as Buzz is on a mission so it is very dramatic. Toy Story is an adventure film so the audience will be based around little children as it is an animated film. The who scene is full of crazy adventurous cool stunts which children will love to see and the music makes it very serious and dramatic. The opening scene shows Buzz having a battle with his arch enemy (Zerg) and trying to get away from his cruel stunts. The audience feel excited when Buzz goes "Too infinity and beyond" everyone loves that catch phrase so that is why Buzz is everyones favorite. The characters in the opening scene are just Buzz and Zerg, Buzz is the main character in the scene as he is doing crazy stunts to get some power battery thing from Zerg and Zerg tries all he can to stop Buzz from getting it, which is exciting for the younger audience as they love. There is a lot of contact towards the end of the scene as the two character fight for the power battery, this is interesting for the audience as it dramatic and serious especially for a children movie. The location looks like it is in space due to the space rocks and sky. The costumes are just Buzz in a space men suit this gives Buzz a bit of a character about his self and his personality.

The sound effects in the opening scene are very dramatic and uses sound like a star wars based themed tune, You hear Buzz speaking in some of the film and you hear him scream, which gives an dramatic effect on the scene. The lighting is very bright and effects are all animated as it is an animated film. This effects the younger audience because it is bright, child like, and has a lot of action in it. The body language towards the two characters are very tense as they are both enemies and also Buzz is very much independent in the first half, but the audience also feels tense at what Buzz is planing to do.

The key shots and movements in this opening 2 minutes are very different as they use tracking movement as it feels like you are being Buzz by following his move from his point of view. There is also a close up shot of Buzz  in the opening scene, this can show what his facial expressions are and what hes wearing in detail. There is a long shot to show the whole location and scene There are medium shots of just Buzz and a two shot with Buzz and Zerg. There is also a high angle shot this shows what Buzz is doing from a high point of view. Also in the scene there is a slight over the shoulder shot on where Buzz is looking at Zerg and the camera angle is shot behind Buzz. There is also a panning shot,so the camera is following Buzz's movement from a medium shot point of view, this can also be referred to dollying as well. Finally in the scene there is a couple of low shot used as the camera is shooting from a low angle to see the action from a lower point of view. Overall the opening scene is great for a children's perspective as it is bright, fun and full of action which children across the world love.

The opening scene is very important as it needs to be dramatic so the audience can get hooked and it can have a little teaser on what the movie is going to be about, this is what will appeal to the audience. The characters in the opening 2 minutes are rangers and they are working together to try and protect everyone. The scene and location is in the middle of a jungle/forest and it is very windy, with trees are swaying and the lights of the jeeps, this shows that it is very dramatic for an opening scene so that the audience can get gripped.

The sound effects used are sound of the leaves rustling in the wind, people chatting and tombs noises. Near the end of the scene things get serious and everyone is communicating with each other and the sounds are very dramatic as every move they make it makes people jump a little, with gun shots, crashes ad banging and big falls it makes it very lively and gets the audience interested as lots of things are happening. The lighting is very dark as the scene is at night, there is car lights on so people can still see and the effects they use are the sounding of each action taken. the body language used are that the rangers are very weary of the dinosaur and they work together to try and stop the dinosaur from breaking out.

The key shots used are close up shot of the facial expression used, zoom in shot so they zoomed in to the rangers face from a far distance. They also use low shot of the view from lower ground when the big crate enter the scene. There is also panning going on so the directer as made sure they film the who location from a high angle. Finally there is medium shot of all the rangers looking at the big crate and when there is a fight scene the camera scans the whole fight at a high angle view.
